San Jacinto Council at the Lone Star Flight Museum
On March 23rd, the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council hosted an incredible aviation education event at the Lone Star Flight Museum in Houston, Texas. I had the honor of speaking at this event, along aside the incredible Dr. Shelly Lesikar deZevallos, to dozens of middle and high school aged young women about my experience as a young woman pursuing aviation. It was incredible to see the enthusiasm in these young girls and to see the impact that the San Jacinto Council is making in the lives of Girls Scouts everywhere! 2023 National Gold Award Scholarship!
Girl Scouting has always been an essential part of my identity. It was the program where I discovered my love of learning, made lifelong friends, and cultivated my passions. This past year, I had the privilege of completing my Girl Scout Gold Award, called Girls Who Soar. I hosted a series of workshops introducing the wonderful world of aviation to young women in my community, and I am still working on sharing it with girls around the country through my advocacy efforts. I was recently awarded the 2023 National Gold Award Scholarship of $10,000 from the Girl Scouts of the USA. I am incredibly humbled and grateful for this opportunity…
