Girls Who Soar – Gold Award Video
Here is my Gold Award video from Girl Scouts of Gulf Coast Florida! All of the Gold Award Girl Scouts from this council were recognized at the Young Women of Distinction Ceremony on May 21st, 2023. I also had the pleasure of being the master is ceremonies for the event! The video is below and some photos are below!

The Fly Day! ✈️
The day finally arrived. Fly Day! 17 girls, and tons of community volunteers, gathered at the Punta Gorda EAA 565 Building at Punta Gorda Airport. We had everything from simulators to drones to crafts for the students to learn from. We also had an amazing guest speaker Sydney, a former Certified Flight Instructor at Aeroguard Flight Training Center. Our two amazing pilots were Bob DiCello and Terry Carbonell, both incredible and generous pilots. The girls had such a blast, and we even got one signed up for her Student Pilot’s Certificate and joining as a member of the Paradise Coast Ninety Nines. Workshop #1 – Complete!
The workshop for Saturday, September 10th is complete! We had 10 girls in attendance, which was great considering the stormy weather. It was such an exciting session, and I’m so proud of all of the girls for pushing through the day and learning with me! We build wing ribs, made a flight plan, called WX BRIEF, learned about the phonetic alphabet, made keychains, and so much more. We also had two incredible speakers – Katie Truedson and Cheryl Lynn – that talked to the girls about recreational and career flying. I’m so grateful for everyone who came out for this workshop.
